I know most of you always fish the river, but I would like to share some info about Tonka if any of you are int he area. I recently went out there and found that there are some good fish shallow and we found some good numbers in the 10 ft range with scattered coontail. I was throwing a rebel A crank that was red, and we would rip it out of the taller grass and receive some good reaction bites. IF you are a deep water fisherman, look for the coontail to go as deep as 25 ft. and fish it with a taco jighead and a straight tailed Zoom Finesse worm. Good luck fishing.

Hey Flippinbass,
Thanks for the switch up,,, Tonka is a blast to fish and thanks for the update. I am not sure what a taco jighead is? You will have to fill us river guys in on what that is. Did ya get any big pigs on Tonka, that lake is loaded with them.

Last year I was fishing a rockpile in about 12-15 feet of water for bass with a big red Storm Mag wart. I caught one eye that was 27 inches and I was just amazed, While I was unhooking him I drifted off the spot. When I got back to the exact angle I caught another one that was 28.5. I have never encountered something like that, probably because I never fish for them. But I will say, loading up a cranking rod on those two was so much fun. For Smallmouth, I usually don't see for another two-three weeks. However last month I was prefishing for a tournament I was catching a bunch of smaller ones on docks on the West side of the lake. There are huge ones out there, I just think they suspend over such deep water that they're really hard to catch during the summer.
Good Fishing!

HEy ADLOOS,
I dont know where to exactly get them, I was given them not to long ago but I can find out. After using them a couple of times I truly beleive they might be one of the best jigworming jigs there is. I know they are very popular down south for spots.
