I don't know about you guys, but fishing the river has been a bit slow for us.

I've been out 4-5 times in the last 2 weeks and it's been slow going.

My wife landed this little sturgeon below Bass Camp a while back

Those of you that know me, know I'd rather search out the walleyes than anything else.. but after struggling to find 'em, and then losing the biggest walleye I've ever seen right at the boat (chickenuscle102 saw it too!)... we moved on to casting some backwaters for bucketmouths and northerns.

I've been having about the same luck lately, try for the walleyes at a few spots for a while then moving on to the backwaters for the bass and northern. That's one great thing about the river in my opinion. Something is always biting somewhere.:)

Seems I cant start a new thread, so I'll hop on SwimSMU's post...

Good time was had by all at our yearly summer family vac up to Lake Winnie. Fishing was decent with a mixed bag of pike, bass, bullhead, sunnies... and of course a few eyes and plenty of jumbo perch. Had my youngest daughter and niece out one afternoon for some mid day bobber and worm action... 20" nothern hits the kids line. Can you imagine her surprise! They had a blast. Good memories.
