i got out for a couple of hours on friday night to try for cats ended up with only one inthe first 20 minutes. caught it on the usual bullhead. he/she ended up at 12 lbs, but they sure fight harder than thier weight allows for. i have been a one cat wonder this year. i have only got sknked one this year and every other time 1 cat has been all i get no matter how long i sit out there.
i also wet a fly today for about 45 minutes. tough bite for me today. only managed one on a pink squirl. the cows had the run of the creek i was on so i could not fish the prime pools. it go to hot for me anyways, so i called it quits.
heres just a couple of pics. not any bragging pics, but something to look at none the less.
Pound for pound, nothing fights like a cat:D It is that one a night that keeps a guy going back waiting to hit it big. Nice fish!

Not sure on that. If you had a 35 pound bluegill on the line, I'm not sure you could ever land it!! :)

Hey, I finally made it out for a night of fishing, and had this one on in the first thirty minutes.. I thought I was in for the night of my life. Full moon, no bugs, and no traffic. The conditions were ideal. I got this guy on the edge of the main channel in the wood at 27 ft.

Of course, being a Minnesota Angler, I used a 7 inch sucker minnow. Would it be legal to use a mooneye for bait? They are very lively and very visible.. a good combo for bait. I have never heard anything about using them.
Yea.. I had a blast fishing that night. We fished from 9 until midnight or so, and caught him in the first thirty minutes.
