better late than never.

i havent had a chance to report on last weeks hunt but i finally got time and thought i would give a report. as you know temps were near 80 degrees this past weekend! never have i hunted with shorts on under my waiters. despite the heat and sun shine master baiterand i headed out both saturday and sunday. the traffic was much less than on opener and for good reason. there were a lot less ducks flying, but we were still happy with the numbers. the flight time was pretty short, only lasting a few hours on saturday, and even less on sunday. wre ended up getting 4 each day. all woodies except for 1 teal. on sunday we were not able to find 2 of the birds, so we had to call it a day since we counted the lost birds in our abag limit. nevertheless, getting out was the best part, and seeing a few birds was great. it should only get better from here on out with this wind and colder temps! bring on fall!!!! here are a couple pics. in the second pic you can see how masterbaiter tried to use the heat as an advantage. it got so hot out there, and we did a little jump shooting so the only way to cool off was to loose some layers. master baiter then tried using his david hasselhoff chest to lure the "woodies" in. cant explain it but we never saw a bird after that. yopu would have thought one of them would want to have made a nest right in that furry thing!
