Want a quick fun trip with your kids? Try the ponds in the City park in Lanesboro, MN. Yesterday my kids and I had a hoot of a time catching trout in the eastern most pond in Lanesboro. For kids it is perfect fun. They used a light action rods with a simple bobber and wax worm setup. Both boys caught more than a dozen fish (12-14", with one 16") in less than an hour. When we were done fishing (we ran out of wax worms!) we fought our melting ice cream at Das Wurst Haus on main street. This was a great trip for peeking the boy's interest in fishing and having a fun time.
