A special thanks goes out to Tim Chick for going out and doing a fishing show with us. We had an excellent evening on the water!! I wish I had pictures to show, but with the camera rolling, no time to take pics. The water level was really low and with no breeze the water was like glass out there. We caught all our fish on wingdams throwing willowcats. I started out the night with a big sinker on my lindy rig, but found out fast that i needed to down size to a 3/8oz sinker cause with the slow current no need for the big sinker. Our biggest walleye for the evening was 9lbs. We also caught 2 - 24" walleyes, and about 12 walleyes between 15 - 19 inches. Since we were using bigger willowcats we really had to let the walleyes take em for a while, before setting the hook. We also found later in the evening that the walleyes seemed to be more on top of the wingdams then deep. The only thing bad about fishing more on the top of the dam is that there are a lot more snags. This will be a very exciting show so I hope most of you can tune into the show airing on HBC Channel 25.

Sounds like I should be fishing pool 5 more. I love catching big walleyes on wingdams. I tried to get some willowcats last weekend in red wing and everybody was out. Darn it. Hopefully they get restocked this week. Seems like all the junk fish will hit the leeches and crawlers but stay away from the willowcats more. Great report.

That was a great night of fishing I had a blast the fishing started off a little slow but really picked up later in the night.I was out last night in pool 6 and they fish were still biting great we ended up with nine legal eyes mostly in the 16" to 20" range with one nice fat 25" to make it a great night. We were mainly looking for dams with more current on them fishing bait and throwing cranks. The fish are really biting if you can stand the high temps.
