I have been finding a lot more fish in the slop with a little current by it, compared to slop that has no current. I think the water is a little cooler for the fish compare to dead water that can heat up so much more in the course of the day.

That has been a strong pattern down here also.

yeah, its pretty awesome when they explode on the scum frog.
Robby: What brand frogs do you like to throw? I have been doing well on the scum frog, though its so tough to hook them all.

i like the heavier tourny frogs and the perfect frogs, you can throw them alot further and easier with baitcast gear than you can the scum frogs and they are soft enough to catch the fish

I just hate northerns and dogfish, cause they just rip the frogs a part. Those scum frogs arent cheap either, especially the tournament series.

I think that's a pattern that emerges at the end of every summer. More than just the heat, I think it may be an oxygen thing.
Have you noticed many of the no flow areas, the weeds that were green in June are now turning brown? Brown weeds make no oxygen, green do.

Your exactly right Mossboss oxygen is crucial and with dead weeds it just isnt going to hold the fish. I love that early bite when the Largemouth move outside the weeds to feed. This bite usually only happens for a short amount of time early morning.

I Bombed the last time I went scummin on the river, but I noticed a lot of new things. ONe was that the wind has a lot to do with scumming. I personnally would want some wind blowing in to my spot or current going through any points or secondary points that you might be fishing. Big flats full of scum material is great, just remember to pay attention to your depthfinder for those deeper holes or lanes for fish to move in and out of.
