Ice is getting thicker

I went ice fishing today over by the Tremp. Lakes with Jim and Issec Brown. We had out 4 flags and didnt get a fish. As for the panfish, we had a dozen small ones. The fish were biting very slow today. I had my vexilar with me today so I could tell where the fish were. I talked to another friend of mine from Tremp. and he told me that he wasnt catchin anything either. Just a few small fish. I was very surprised because there was about a 12 inches of ice. Did anyone go over to Dodge for the ice fishing tournament??? Any good results?? Good Luck Fishing!!! :D

I was at the Dodge Ice Fishing contest. The lake was packed, more of a party than an actual fishing contest. It was a good time and plenty of prizes were given away. There were people from all over. There was actually some nice trout (stocked) caught and some nice crappies, perch, and sunnies. Plenty of bottle bass caught at this event.

With the snow thats coming, it will put a hold on the amount of ice being made.

All I caught was a slight buzz. I didn't fish, I just went to see what was caught and visit with some of the locals. It is more of an event than an actual fishing tournament.

Hey Water Dog,

I heard is was alot of bottle bass on the ice???? haha. I alot heard that there was some really nice trout caught!!!! kinda sounds like fun. Thanks for the update!! Good Luck fishing...
