Went out channel catfishing this morning and ended up catching 6 fish. Nothing to big, but it was fun getting out there. The fish we did catch were in some pretty fast current. Havent been out cattin in a while, but the smell of that cheese bait was wonderful. From what I have heard the catfish have really been biting. I just wish I could of gotten into some nicer fish. Always next time.

I have always done better for BIG cats on crawlers strung onto One-ounce jigs drug along the bottom during midd-day story here (http://www.startribune.com/stories/531/5551894.html) I will dig out the picture as it is not on that site.
And yes, i am aware that the current state record is only 70-pounds.
I just didn't want to kill the fish in order to get it ceritfied.

That is a huge fish, if you find the pic you should post it. I have also caught many cats with crawlers, but I have been just crushing the cats with stinkbait so it has been tough to change bait. By the way, welcome to the site, we appreciate your support.

I used to fish channels with stink bait as a kid out on the plains lakes, but that stuff is too difficult to get off your hands.

we had to drag this fish around with the boat in order to get it off the bottom.
I hooked it in 60 feet of water.

I passed the rod off to my dad after about 15 mins so i could run the boat back to the 20 foot flat where we figured we had a better shot at pulling it off the bottom and getting it to the net.

It was prolly about an hour before we had it in the boat.

It was a hot day for bigs cats that day.

I had lost one on the previous drift that I battled for an hour and a half before the hook straightened out. I am really looking forward to doing it again.

I do not fish if I do not have my camera.
