At least you got a better season than what we got in MN. It sucks with only 4 birds. I dont mind the 1 hen mallard though. What part of Iowa do you hunt? How was last season for you? Our's up here was not to good. We did ok up in Rochester though.

I live just North of Waterloo. I didn't duck hunt last year, but talking with hunters that did, they said it sucked  I most chase the big birds in the fields. Love those Canada geese :D Gonna try some duck hunting again this year, my 2 kids want to go.

I would rather shoot Geese before ducks any day!!! What a rush when a flock commits to the decoys. I can't wait for early season, even though I hate to see summer come to an end. What do you prefer for decoys in the field?

We run Bigfoots, Outlaw silos, and G&H mag shells. I tried the GHG fullbodies, but got rid of them because they scratch way to easy. Bigfoots are way to durable and you can just toss them in and go. Flock the heads on on everything and you are set.

Gosh, you dont mess around. Nice line-up. My favorite full bodies are bigfoots, but I also have like 40 greenhead gear full body flocked heads. The greenhead are nice, but they scratch easy and you have to baby them, compared to my bigfoots, just throw them in and go. I also use carrylite super mag shells. They actually look pretty good, but I need to flock the heads. Have you ever flocked heads? I think i might try flocking them.

I have flocked to many heads to count. Last summer that is all I did. I flocked heads for people all the way out to NY,MI, PA. I isn't hard, just time consuming. How many heads do you need flocked?

WOW, you are the flocking PRO!! :D I need to flock about 80 dekes. What do you recommend I use? And what are the steps involved. Thanks

I personally use Donjer products for flocking. www.donjer.com Make sure you get the nylon fibers. You can call them and tell them how many heads and size of the heads you want to flock. They can tell you how much materials you will need for fibers and adhesive. The proces involves cleaning the heads, roughing them up with wire brush, sealing with plastic sealer, applying adhesive and then flocking with the hand applicator, hang and let dry (harden) for at least one week before handling them. When applying the fibers, do it over a large box or garbage pale with a garbage bag in it. You can reuse the fibers that don't stick. Very messy job!!! Wear a face mask when applying the fibers or you will have black snot. Not good for the lungs.
I use a wire wheel on my bench grinder
