With the Bass season finally open on the lakes, I thought I would head out and see what I could come up with. Usually this time a year the fishing is awesome and I wasn’t wrong there. Before heading out on the water I was thinking of where those big fish could be staging. With such a weird spring and different weather conditions, I thought I might be able to find some late spawners. I was only able to find a few spawning fish, but no size to these fish. After cruising the shallows for a while, I decided to try fishing the weedlines. As a lot of you know right now the weedlines are very definite and many of these fish are sitting on the edges of these weeds. We started throwing culprit worms along the weed edges and ended up with some awesome action!! Since we were catching fish, there was no reason to change baits, so we kept throwing worms all night. The biggest fish that we caught for the evening was a 4.3lb Largemouth as you see in the picture. All the fish we caught this evening were all release, because without catch and release fishing would not be the same.

Hey Andy,
Any updates on the weekly Wednesday night tourney?
How has the action been now that summers heat has us gripped tight?

The bite has been really good, but last week many people struggled. With the weeds completely gone, it makes fishing the weedlines tough. Last week we had a two fish limit. Winner had 7lbs.
The water is really cloudy so my new plan of attack is start using more rattles in my baits. Hopefully that will help.

Did get out this past Wednesday night 6/29.
Wind was nasty for everyone. Winning weight was 3.8 for 2 fish.
I had a solid 3 that did the ol flop off at the boat  , also boated a 2 lber.
It took me a bit to do the math but it seems I may have done alright if I could use a net!
I know big fish story, but what you gunna do?
Water is still cloudy and the weeds are still gone. Right now wish I had a nice GPS. The old line up the big tree, house with the water tower just does not cut it in big wind!

I was unable to fish wednesday. Them are some low weights, that usually doesnt happen on the lake to often, but the lake is going through a transition.
That is the worst feeling when you miss a nice fish at the boat, especially when you know you could have won it if you would of had that fish.
Always next week!!!
See ya there! Hopefully I wont have to work that night.

Anyone know what the winning weight was on wednesday July 6?
I missed getting out by about 1 min. I swung past with the boat in tow at about 6:01 and saw they had just been sent out.
With the wife in less than a happy mood I thought my best bet was to head back to the home front
Those of you who are married know my pain. Those of you who are not..Stay that way! :D
Well take that plung if you want but remember I warned you there will be days like this for you too!
