Howdy all...

I found the website by doing some browsing for Mississippi River fishing. I fish out of St. Charles MO ( POOL 26). We haven't had much luck this year some larger channel cat and drum. We mostly lake fish in this area, but with the river only being 10 minutes away you can't beat it.

Anybody else from Pool 26 aka Alton pool area? Any fishing reports?

Thanks!

Walleye... Bass??? whats that ;)

There is some good school of white bass that you can get into. Mostly catfish, and more gar than you care for. It's not the best fishing by far, but maybe i'm just doing something wrong, and thats why I'm here. :)

fishhunter are you in ST. Charles, Missouri?

I've never seen a HUGE gar, mostly all of them are the smaller needle nose gar. We've caught them on everything we use. Goldfish seem to work really well. They will just nibble on the fish so make sure to use a big treble hook.

nope not from missouri. st. charles minnesota about 20 miles away from winona where the river is. i have heard about nylon rope lures for longnose gar . have you ever used one of those? do they really work?
if you want to catch some bass or northerns you really need to go get your self some spinners . they don't cost much to try anyway. see if you can land a large mouth bass .
