I hit it up. I went up north to go after some geese. There are a lot of birds it just happened that i was in the wrong spot every time I went out. That's how it goes some times

apollo,
leech has so much water, sometimes it is hard to even pick a spot to find thier path. just seeing birds is great, and watching were they come off and the direction they fly will help for next time. they stick close to thier roots if they are not pounded to hard. you can always come out and join my dad and i when i get back up their.

Saturday i went to Roch. didnt do anything went to the farmers land and shot some pigons. Sunday went to a spot in winona saw one flock but didnt get a shot at them. they went the other way. oh well maybe next season. I wish MN would let us hunt early and late season for geese on the water. I know some people who went out to hunt in wisc. on the water and got some. oh well maybe the law will change for next year.

It is something that Mn says we have such a problem with geese that they are thinking of a August season! Let us hunt over water for the early season and give us in the SE Mn more of a bag limit.

I just dont understand the two goose limit in SE MN, but you can go across the river and shoot 5 Geese. Makes no sense. And they can hunt water and we can't

I haven't goose hunted in nearly ten years and would like to get out and do it this year. I was browsing through the laws and see things have changed.

I grew up in SOuth central MN and hunted fields for Canada's. Now I have a swimming lab that is good retriever that is young and has never hunted waterfowl.

I have been eye balling the public hunting area north of the WW and am curious as to the new water laws.

How do these laws pertain to the area I am thinking about hunting during hte regular season?

Can I not hide in the reeds and shoot geese legally?

Thanks -

H-man

Does anybody know the reasoning the DNR gives for not allowing us to hunt over water in the SE zone during the early season? I've always wondered, but have never heard the logistics behind it....if there is any???
