The walleye fishing is very tough right now. Sunday I went out in the Winona pool in search of some go current breaks and some what clear water which is nearly impossible right now. Most of the wingdams are to fast and muddy to fish, so I tried some low current sandflats that produced a good sauger bite on trolling crankbaits. This was fun but just not the same as bringing in those big eyes. So I dicided to go in the backwaters and try a few holes that have held some eyes in the past. What do you know first cast 20" Walleye, but it was all down hill after that only managing to catch a couple in the 13"-14" range followed by a 6.5lb. mudd cat which put up a good fight. After that it was time to call it a day and header in. GOOD FISHING

Nice Report marbleEyes!!! Muddy water always slows down fishing. Have you been trying any leeches yet? or have you just been trolling?

I haven't had any luck on leeches yet catching most of my fish on cranks and jigs tipped with plastics.
