Had a chance to get out on 5A for a bit. The day was warm and the sun was shining. Perfect for this time of year. :)
The fishing was steady, but not on fire. Perhaps the warmer weather has the fish thinking that it is still summer and they don't need to feed heavy just yet.
We stared on Wingdams with mimic minnows and we did find fish, but not in the large numbers I was hoping.
We then went to some old summer slop hangouts and tried the top water frog. Very quickly we were rewarded with 5 or so 2+lbers. This is still just a blast watching those largies just smack the heck out of the frog.
We went from weedbed to weedbed where we would find 5-10 fish and then move on.
I also went to some spots I know fish in the winter and at this point no one was home...yet.
My guess is after this midweek possible snow :mad: We may find them heading in that direction fast.
