The current Riverangling show features bluegill fishing on wingdams on pool 5a with Andy and his brother Matt. After filming the show with the guys I really got the bug to find some bluegill wingdams on the pools down by Trempealeau. It took three trips on both pools 6 and 7 but we finally found a good wingdam last night and boy did my son and I have a blast. The key to finding these good wingdams is looking for rock just below the surface with a lazy flow going over the top. Then you throw a redworm 12-inches under a small bobber above the dam and let it float down. The gills will hammer it right when it gets to the top edge of the dam. Get out and find a bluegill wingdam on your stretch of the river and take a kid with you.
