I decided to get out bowfishing with a friend of mine for the opening of the season in Wisconsin this weekend. It was warm and sunny with lots of wind. It took a while and a lot of misses to connect with the first carp, but once we did things started to happen. Someone stole my first carp while we were scoping out other spots. I have my suspicions who it might of been, but I can't prove anything Wade. I got a total of nine fish and my friend Andy got his first one. I would say we got one fish for every 10 shots so they're out there pretty thick. We also saw a bunch of gar in shallow, but they alluded our arrows. I did manage to get one of the big ones I wanted, 41” long 26” girth. The tomatoes will be happy this summer. It was a long dirty day, but the most fun I've had in a while. Get out there and kill em!

May 1, 2007 EJ's honey hole for Minnesota Bowfishing opener- something to look forward to after work, decided to lay off the carp for a day and let the suckers feel the pain for the MN bowfishing opener- shot after shot after shot after shot, fish everywhere- Suckers were a little tougher to connect with than carp because they’re smaller and spookier, but with that many fish it was hard to miss- we finally left when I broke the slide on my arrow too many "this is my last shot"s- another perfect bowfishing opener

Had the itch to do a little bowfishing today after some carp were taunting me- Ended up with my first gar and a pretty nice 26" grass carp- I also missed a bunch of shots so they're still around, just getting harder to see through the weeds
